Season chicken with salt, pepper, and half the spices
Heat butter in a large pot over medium-high heat
Brown chicken pieces on all sides, then remove and set aside
Sauté onion until golden, then add garlic and ginger
Add remaining spices and cook for 1 minute until fragrant
Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes
Return chicken to pot and add cream
Simmer for 15 minutes until chicken is cooked through
Meanwhile, cook basmati rice according to package directions
Serve butter chicken over rice, garnished with fresh cilantro
